Where did the time go? Almost 5 months!

Little Porter has turned into BIG Porter!! Weighing in at 17 pounds and almost 27 inches at his 4 month appointment, he is just growing too fast. Every day is so fun with him. I love his smile and I love that he is learning so much every day! It's crazy to know that he's learning everything from me and Nic. I want to be the best example for him. Even though he won't remember anything that we do when he's 5 months old, it's still so important to me to be a good example to him.

This Thanksgiving was with the McKinley family and it just so happened that Nic's family came to Utah for a wedding so we got to see them a little too. It was fun that we got to see everyone and that Porter got to hang out with his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and even cousins! I'm so glad that they got to see him because he is just growing up so fast. It's so important to cherish these little moments because before we know it, he'll be crawling and walking or whatever he wants to do next! We had a great Thanksgiving, except for the fact that Nic got crazy sick Thanksgiving night. It hit Nic first and then spread around to almost the entire family. How Porter and I came out unscathed, we'll never know, but I count it as a huge blessing. He's finally feeling better, thank goodness!!

We put up our tree a couple days ago and it's so nice to smell that fresh pine filling up our home. Porter will just stare and stare at the lights. It's the cutest.

Now we're back to campus and online classes, and I swear we feel like it will never end. Only 2 weeks of the semester left! It's so funny because Nic and I can't wait to graduate, but anyone I know that's graduated says, enjoy it while it lasts! I really do appreciate all of the amazing blessings that we've been given while being in school. Having a baby and being a senior in college isn't the easiest thing to do, but I know we're being blessed every day because of it. Little man will just sit in my lap and chill while I take my online tests and write my papers. (Too bad he can't tell me all the answers!) ;) He makes me learn more than I could ever just learn in a classroom and I'm so glad that I can get my degree and have a family at the same time.

Porter just amazes us every day and there is always something new that he's trying to accomplish. He's definitely getting his own little personality - but I wouldn't call it little. He likes to be heard. He'll talk as loud as he can until Nic or I look over at him playing. At that point he'll just stare at us until we smile or laugh at him, and then he'll be okay again for a few minutes. He's also staring to want to be moving around. (ALWAYS!) Ever since he rolled over a couple days ago, he's been doing it non-stop. One thing about his little personality that I love is just how sweet he is. He is full of giggles and smiles. He will just look at us and stare. He's completely content with just playing on the floor and talking to himself. It's crazy how fast we work to become more independent. As he's rolling over and trying to crawl, I realize he's slowly becoming more independent from here on out. I'll let him make the decisions he wants, but I'm going to always want my snuggle time - even when he's 18 and possibly about to leave on a mission.

 10 Things About Porter
1. When we turn off the lights or it gets really dark all of a sudden, Porter will try and open his eyes REALLY BIG to make it so he can see better.
2. When I go to grab him when he wakes up in the morning, he gives me the biggest smile, so happy to see me.
3.  When Nic gets home and Porter will look to the door to see what the noise is. Then, Nic will walk over to him and he'll just start to crack up.
4. Porter rolls over and tries to sort of army crawl. He gets so frustrated that he can't grab the toys a foot in front of him yet!
5. In the morning, when we're all waking up, we'll just lay in bed with him, he'll look over at me to make sure I'm still awake - and smile when he sees my eyes open.
6.  He gets so excited when he sees a bottle. He'll see me shaking it and have this super stoked look on his face. :)
7. When he gets so excited, he just doesn't know what to do! He'll kick his legs, scream, and his eyes will get huge!
8.  When he wakes up from a nap, all he wants to do is cuddle. He'll nestle his head next to our necks and just lay their until he wakes up all the way - one of my favorite things.
9. He's been using his feet to grab the toys that dangle above him.
10. If I sing to him, he laughs like crazy! Whether or not that's because he likes music or just because he thinks my voice is funny, it's still the cutest thing ever.

These are just a few of the things that I love that he does. I spare you the rest of them because they could take up an entire day reading. :) Now for the picture overload for the great-grandparents, grandparents, and anyone else that wants to see him!
